COVID-19 and Nitric Oxide

Treating COVID-19

and its variant strains using

Nitric Oxide spray inhalation therapy

Protective role of inhaled nitric oxide in mitigating COVID-19 infection

The life cycle of COVID-19

[1] Spike protein on the virion binds to ACE2, a cell-surface protein. TMPRSS2, an enzyme, helps the virion enter [2] The virion releases its RNA [3] Some RNA is translated into proteins by the cell’s machinery [4] Some of these proteins form a replication complex to make more RNA [5] Proteins and RNA are assembled into a new virion in the Golgi and [6] released.

Intrapulmonary pathophysiology at the early stages of COVID-19 pneumonia

Highlighted are the putative beneficial effects of NO.

Part I: The effects of NO are etiopathogenetic. NO may reduce viral load while halting the intrapulmonary cascade of inflammation, decreasing alveolar dead space, and thus optimizing ventilation-perfusion. In addition, a decrease in respiratory rate, improvement of gas exchange, and enhanced respiratory comfort may prevent the development of self-induced lung injury.

Part II: Persistent SILI and CSI contribute to transition of disease into a self-maintaining and self-sustained process. The continuum of intrapulmonary pathophysiology is mediated by local and systemic hyper-inflammatory reactions, even after virus elimination.

Part III: NO-mediated cardio-respiratory interactions to reduce the risk of right ventricular failure.

Our approach to treat COVID-19 and lung infections by NO spray

Enogenesis_nasal_NO.jpg
  • 4 different dilution points of Nitric Oxide(NO) with 3 Sars Cov-2 positive samples with different Ct values have been used for this study

  • The mixture of samples and NO was incubated for 1 hour after each dose.

  • The Xfree COVID-19 Direct RT-PCR BioGX assay was used to perform RT-PCR of the mixture.

Test Results

Enogenesis_covid_test_232_02.jpg

  • Nitric oxide is a very effective treatment against COVID and its variants inhibiting viral replication

  • Inhalation of microdroplets inhibits viral replication using a sprayer every 4 hours 3-4 times a day

  • Controls lung infections as the NO-microdroplets go to lower lobes of the lungs

  • Boost immune system
